This ...should... fit in a 2002 BMW M3 ...BUT... You will most likely need a double din dash trim conversion kit for it. I would search for this on ebay. Also, a wiring harness adapter. The Basic difference between the two models is that the 3000 is a larger (7") screen with a thin panel at the bottom with the volume controls and the 100 is a smaller (6.4") screen with a side panel that has a volume control knob. As far as functionality, I don't know of any differences.
