“will this head unit allow me to use the current steering wheel controls on a 2015 nissan altima? The website is misleading as when i filter head units that support steering wheel controls it does not give me this head unit as an option.”

It should work. We just had this installed in a 2004 Chevy Silverado and to our surprise, the steering wheel controls did work. We didn’t have to purchase any other parts or have any special installation for that, so you should be fine.
