Hi Dave, thanks for your question and interest on the Sony - 75" Class BRAVIA 9. On this TV if you want to get sound from the TV speakers and AV receiver at the same time, you will need to connect your receiver via Optical cable and then set the audio output of your TV to Audio System, we hope this answers your question!
