Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the dish network, same thing as direct tv. Unfortunately the tv can’t perform magic on an already messed up quality of a video. When a football game is broadcasted in 1080, the quality of the 1080 signal varies. You can see this right away in the stat boxes on the screen. They are a little blurry. This is not the tv nor is it your box, but it’s the transmitted signal by broadcasters. There are times during a game when they zoom in on a player and the detail is crystal clear. So the tv does a great job of what is provided to it. The processors on the Sony are far superior to the LG.

Please try again later.The video processor does and excellent job. 1080p content looks much better than it did on my previous 1080p TV and DVD content also up-scales to be better than the original. 1080p streaming content and 1080p and lower resolution content from the satellite and other sources also look very good.
