We did not buy an extended warranty. Typically if a TV is going to burn out it will do it in the first 12 months. We still have our other two flat screens, One is 45" 15 years old. The other is 55" 8 years old. Both still work perfectly. Maybe we are just lucky.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.By no means, would I pay $6,000 without getting an extended warranty and taking the risk of something happening 14 months after purchase. However, with that being said, you can purchase the TV through the Magnoila section, in store only, and buy a 4 year warranty for about $800. So you will loose a year but also save $400 bucks.
