• Really comes down to personal taste. Let me try to answer your question like this: If you want Dolby Vision support, the software update (due 01/10/2018 according to AVS Forum) won't come for the 900E as its graphics engine is not the X1 Extreme processor, which is the only one that will support Dolby Vision. I have the 940E and am deeply impressed by its representation of colors (brightness) and blacks. The 940E comes very close to OLED quality. Does this help?

• the 940e will be worth it. more dimming zone, higher nits, faster processor. it's better in every way

• The 940e has much better local dimming for near OLED quality blacks. For me, this makes it worth the extra money.
