A:Answer The Z8H is one of the best televisions ever made by Sony— All TVs need the proper picture settings to perform optimally. Out of the box the TV is set to showroom mode, which is basically Vivid— Too bright with inaccurate colors. The best out of the box setting is Custom— closest to the creators intent and a great picture. Be sure the backlight is set to medium— this TV produces the best black levels of any LCD, coming close to matching OLED. The new Z9J reportedly has Sony’s latest XR processor, likely an improvement over the X1 in the Z8H. It is an LCD TV as well, so black levels TBD. It may have slightly better PQ that the Z8H. No one has reviewed it yet, or even seen it in person. Expect a debut in May or June— 8K OLEDs exist— LG makes one for $50 or 60K. The Z8H was built to be bright— more faithfully producing the light levels of original content. No current OLED can do that. In Custom mode the HDR picture is quite striking—. This is an excellent television. Put it in Custom more or have it calibrated (about $300) for an excellent picture—
