there are various places in my living room that are actually closer than 11-12 ft, no issue - love this TV - great decision and no regrets
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I measured it and I sit 11-12 ft from screen. If I'm closer I find the details and grain to be distracting. I have a 65" OLED in another room and I find ten feet to be comfortable. Hope this response helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It depends on what you watch and what kind of experience you want. I have a relatively new 85 inch Bravia and for news, game shows, sitcoms, etc. I can be 15/16 feet away and it's fine. For movies, particularly ones I want to get into, like a great Hitchcock suspense (Vertigo), or scifi thriller (Alien 2), or a classic comedy (Criterion's BD My Man Godfrey), I like being no more than 10/11 feet away. The closer (up to maybe 8 feet) you get the more of a cinematic (peripheral-vision-filling) and immersive experience you'll have. I had a 120 inch projection screen and it was incredible at 12 feet. But other than sports, I only watched movies (or special series like GOT). There's really no wrong or right answer. It's what you want from the viewing experience and how your resources (room size, TV size, seating, etc.) can best be utilized to obtain that experience.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can sit as close as you feel is comfortable. I like large screens to get more of a cinematic feel. My couch is right in front of my TV about 11-12ft away. It's a nice size for this distance. If my seating was further away, like 15-20ft, I'd go even larger.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can sit anywhere, living room, backyard, front yard, across the street, down the block, it don’t matter.
