I have attached a jpg of Sony's current statement regarding HDMI 2.1 and the XBRX900H models (among others). Essentially 4k120, eARC, VRR and ALLM will be supported in a "future" software update. 8k60 will not be supported. I have an 85" X900H, but I don't use any of these features. So I can't tell you if the update has occurred yet. I suspect not.

There is much confusion about the HDMI versions and concerns about compatibility. For this reason, we do not promote the HDMI versions incorporated on many of our products. Instead, we advertise the features of a product that are associated with a particular HDMI version. For X900H, we have already released an update that adds support for eARC(Enhanced Audio Return Channel) and the 4K 120Hz signal format to allow for PlayStation®️5 compatibility. Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) will be added via a future firmware update. These will be supported on HDMI Input 3 and 4. I hope this helps! Thanks! - Romeo
