“I left the sony USB charger that came with the camera in a hotel room. The manual recommends using this specific charger. Any one charge with a household mini USB and have issues? I'm assuming its safe to use most cords. Thanks”

I have charged my camera with the micro USB for my cell phone (I have a samsung phone) and it charged just fine. It may have taken a little longer to charge, but I have had no issues since charging it with my phone charger.
