Hi John, the camera is neither shockproof, waterproof or splashproof. Thanks_Mitch
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would not recommend dropping your camera or exposing it to any sort of water. It is a camera and an expensive one at that. If you are looking to drop/swim with/ be careless with your camera, I would recommend a GoPro or sonys action camera.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Regarding the 'drop' question, please send me a sample and I can test it for you. :) I will not drop any of my own cameras from even 2 inches on a hard surface because of the delicate optics. Unless any camera has waterproof as a feature, never expose it to rain. If it does, wipe it off quickly and keep it turned off until dry. A6000 does not have this feature. Neither do any of similar mirrorless and DSLR competitors.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi John I seriously doubt that the A600 could withstand a 2 - 4 foot drop. I guess I should say that the amount of damage the camera would take depends on which way the camera lands and what it lands on. I would say that a 4 foot drop to a concrete floor will do some damage. Having said that, with the exception of the high end Professional DSLRs or certain compact cameras ( Fuji XP80, Olympus Stylus Tough and a few others ) I would expect ANY camera to take some damage from a 4 foot fall onto concrete. The Sony A6000 is not "Water Resistant" ( Very few cameras, especially the ones with interchangeable lenses are ). Having said that, I would guess that a light splash or light rain wouldn't hurt the A6000 if you wiped it off before putting it away. You might also want to keep some silica gell packs in your camera bag to absorb any moisture in the bag.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not drop/water resistant. Nikon has such camera but is 50% more pricier, and not as good in low light
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This camera is not rated for high drops or water.
