• The hard drive is not connected to the cámara you need to download all your pictures to your phone or PC the transfer to the hard drive

• That depends on your computer. If you are talking about dumping the footage straight from camera then get a hard drive with a USB or SD slot. With the USB slot you can attach a SD card reader.
