“I really want to switch from shooting with a Nikon to a Sony. Currently can't decided on what Sony model to get, between the a7ii or a7iii. what would be the main difference between those two? And which one would be more beginner friendly to switch to?”

For the price you cant beat the A7ii. I am a beginner also and I can see growing with this camera vs outgrowing. Its great in lowlight and can give professional quality photos.

There are few added and improved features between these two cameras. For Image Stabilization our ILCE7M3 supports it while the ILCE7M3 does not, For Total Megapixel Count our ILCE7M2 has 24.7 MP while our ILCE7M3 has 25.3 MP. In terms of Video Capabilities with S-log our ILCE7M3 is supported while the ILCE7M2 does not. And for Autofocus our ILCE7M2 has 117 points (phase-detection AF) and 25 points (contrast-detection AF) while our ILCE7M3 693 points (phase-detection AF) and 425 points (contrast-detection AF).
