does this device run on electricity with a cord to plug in or does it just run on battery only? i hope it does have an electric cord to plug in. i don't want to think about having to change batteries. i know it has a battery back up system, but i don't see anything about electrical. if it does run on electricity, it is the one i'll buy because i think the projecting of what's on the clock onto the wall would be cool.

I have this product and you can plug it in via cord. I keep mine plugged in. This product is great! My only problem - my cats think the red light on the ceiling (the time from the clock) is a laser pointer, hehe!

yes it has a 120 VAC electrical cord for power. the batteries are just there as a back up if power is lost.
