I dont know on the sonos I had mine hooked to a lg and now a Polk and it works on those 2 .maybe that will help.

Please try again later.I ment to mention earlier in my answer you can also purchase an adapter the converts optical digital to analogue or analogue to optical digital .I used this to play my old CD player on my Polk audio speaker bar with rear bluetooth Polk sr1 speakers this system sounds unreal good even the CD and phonograph hooked to it.are best I have listened to yet.i couldn't believe how good this old CD player sounded .
