Hi, HDMI and Optical are different types of connection but they both support digital signal. HDMI can support both video and audio signal but the Optical supports audio signal only. To run audio from a TV to the receiver kindly use Digital Optical connection or if both device supports ARC, you can use HDMI connection. Thanks. >Joffrey
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your hdmi sends audio and video to your amplifier you can set it up that your amplifier or receiver and then use the input on recover to change from one input to another example video 1 2 or 3 or runner DVD or cd
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sorry if I was not more clear in my response earlier. I meant "OR". Meaning you could use either an RCA Input or HDMI input. Or the Red, Green, and Blue Inputs. And it DOES have Digital Audio Optical In! I just checked. That's the one where it looks similer to a Phone Line but hooks up to most older Sound Systems. Hope that helps! :)
