Hello Carol! If you connect your stereo speakers to this model it will be necessary to choose to send the sound out to your television speakers or external speakers through the audio out / headphone port of this unit. Once the connection is done change the following settings : Press the HOME button, then select [Settings]? [Sound]? [Speakers] ? [TV Speakers] or [Audio System], go back to [Sound] select [Headphone/Audio Out] ? [Audio Out] and then choose [Fixed] to be able to control the volume with your stereo system.~ Jeannette
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe you can remedy this by going into settings, choose sound option & turning on external speakers that way. Look for the headphone/speaker link & change it to desired setting. It seems that you're tv is set to turn external skrs off when using hphones.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I see no way to run the TV directly to speakers. It is standard to run TVs through Stereo receivers which power the Speakers. I can tell you that a Sony receiver is a great choice because most "sync" to Sony TVs and automatically turn on when you turn on the TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the diagram is in the manual. At least it was in mine all you have to do is connect the cables then on the TV remote push options then go down to speakers and switch to audio system. When you hit the options menu if you don't immediately scroll down it will go to the main menu that is ok just scroll right to the settings then sound Choose speakers then audio system. This should work for you.
