I bought this for my mother so I don't have the boombox in hand it's with her, but as I remember when I opened the box and took it out it was a black plastic, even the speakers were covered in black plastic, not cloth. As best as I can remember after seeing it quickly, it was Not made out of a metal source or otherwise, just plastic.
