“Does it play cassettes?”

• No cassettes. It plays CD's, though. It also has an aux in jack to connect wireless devices and a USB jack to play music from flash drives. It also has Bluetooth connectivity to allow you to connect your phone. That comes in handy while streaming SiriusXM, Pandora, Spotify, etc. While this particular model does not play cassettes, Sony does produce a model that DOES have a cassette player: Sony CFD-S70BLK. If having a cassette player is important to you, I suggest looking for that model. Good luck to you.
