“Is the CD mechanism reliable? I have a Sony CFD S50 that started having CD read problem and if it did read okay it would stop playing a few tracks in. Other times it would work fine for awhile. And no, it wasn't bad CDs, they were clean mint condition.”

I’ve Only Had My Sony CD Boombox A Couple Weeks And Used The CD Player A Few Times So I Really Can’t Swear To It’s Longterm Reliability. Just So Far So Good.
