• I found mine did not light when the batteries were low. If you are using it plugged into an electrical outlet, I don't know if it lights then. I have only used with batteries.

• Hi Foxman, the display panel of this Boombox does not light up. It turns on automatically when the unit is turned on, and texts appear depending on the operation performed. Regards, -Mark
