• Hi cashfil, thank you so much for your inquiry. We are not sure what model of Sony receiver you have. However, if your receiver support one or both of the following connections, no, you don't need to change your speaker setup: - MONO OUT jack - MIX OUT jack - SUBWOOFER output jack(s) - SUPER WOOFER output jack(s) You will only need to use the SPEAKER IN terminals of the subwoofer if your receiver doesn't support the above-mentioned output jacks. • No, you have it connected ok. The instructions show you different connection methods depending on your equipment. Mine is connected to the receiver and works fine.
