Your receiver should have come with a tuning sensor in order for it to read the subwoofer being added onto your system. It normally plugs into the receiver with an audio-jack type of plug. This auto-tunes all of your speakers (including a subwoofer).

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.That is very unusual, make sure the volume knob on the back of your sub is up to around half way at least . If your receiver is a new one and you had not fiddled with the sound setup, it should definitely be putting a signal to the sub itself. After adjusting the volume knob on your sub and you still get no sound - go into you receiver settings to locate a sub channel setting for increase/decreasing levels. I'd find it very unlikely this would be set see if that is the culprit.
