Hi Mfillmore, Thank you so much for your interest in Sony's SA-CS9 115W 10” Active Subwoofer! From what I can read online, your Kenwood VR-309 receiver has a subwoofer pre out port for an active subwoofer. So yes, our SA-CS9 should work, but please check your manufacturers information to confirm. You’re going to love the room-filling sound that Mica-Reinforced drivers can deliver. You’ll experience deeper, more precise bass reproduction than ever before and be amazed as your music and movies come alive! Hope this helps, and thanks for considering Sony! - Romeo
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a Sony receiver, but its a pretty standard configuration. It also has a dedicated sub-woofer plug (two recepticals), but the Sony subwoofer uses only one of them. Not sure what speaker receptical options are on the Kenwood receiver, but its worth a try. I've loved this subwoofer. Creates terrific base sound.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This speaker has a 'RCA' jack input. It plugs into a subwoofer output from your amp. It has 'range' adjustments for the output volumes. I would say yes it would work if you can plug it in. The speaker came with a 'RCA' cord about 6 feet long.... When I added this speaker it brought my system up to a 7.2 Dolby sound. Hope this helps...Gerry
