Thank you for your question. The Sony's SS-CS5 Bookshelf Speakers are passive speakers and uses bare speaker wires for connection. They need to be powered by an external amplifier or Audio/Video (A/V) receiver to use. If your turntable has a special port for passive speaker connections & supports a rated impedance of 6 ohms, then these speakers should work. Please check with your device manufacturers' information for compatibility.

You need to connect both the turntable and speakers to an amplifier or receiver. The speakers are passive, i.e. do not have any power.
