Doubtful. In parallel, you're presenting just below a 3.5 ohm load to your receiver. You'll cook your receiver and also, without crossovers, you'll have poor control over the frequency range of each speaker. The formula for wiring in parallel is (ohm A x ohm B) / (ohm A + ohm B). (6 x 8) / (6 + 8) = 3.429 ohms - no bueno for your receiver.
