“How do you connect these speakers with banana jacks? The connectors on the back of the speakers appear to only accept raw wire.”

You just pop off the colored caps on the connectors. They are there because of European regulations. They put them on all the speakers when manufactured instead of leaving them off for some markets. They are there because they are the same connectors used for AC power in Europe and they don't want anybody plugging in a 240 volt line into the speakers.
