• I'm not sure about Yamaha (I have a Sony receiver); but I think that these would work with any receiver.

• I bought a pair a month ago and pushing them with an Onkyo TX SR674. The high end is incredible and adds greatly to my Bose 301's. Hearing sounds on Aja and Waiting for Columbus I never heard before.
