Hello, Fatman! Speaker wires that are anywhere between 12 to 16 gauge are most commonly used for connecting speakers to an amplifier or an Audio/Video (A/V) receiver. A lower-gauge number indicates a thicker wire, while a higher-gauge number indicates a thinner wire. Speaker wires with lower-gauge numbers are better at carrying an amplified audio signal. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Pretty much any brand should be fine. Just stay away from Rocketfish - that stuff is brittle! It's very difficult to strip the Rocketfish wire without losing a lot of strands. Even if you successfully pull it off, it falls apart when you wrap it around the speaker terminal. I don't know, maybe they expect you to use banana clips.
