“Does the camera have a time and date setting that can be turned on and off. Does the time and date appear on the image as picture is taken or added to picture later?”

Choose Write Date, under MENU, tab2, screen 7/7. Date does not appear when framing the picture, but is added to the final picture, lower right corner, in red, "mm dd yyyy". Did not see Time option.
