The DSCHX99 camera do have a Pop Color picture effect. However, what this picture effect does is it allows you to create a vivid look by emphasizing color tones on the image. The picture effect to create the black and white looks are called High Contrast Mono and Rich-tone Mono. After capturing the images with picture effect, you can send it to your smartphone using the Send to Smartphone Function.

A:AnswerI don't use the view finder but from just checking it out when you put the camera to your face to look through the view finder it automatically puts the display window image into the viewfinder and when you take it away from your face it switches back to the display window.
Does the same thing in shoot mode as well. The view finder is hidden until pulling down on a small mechanism.

A:AnswerHi jbrr, the camera does not have a sports mode or action shot mode but what you could do us use a (S) shutter priority mode and use a high shutter speed to capture sports and action sequences. **When you shoot indoor sports scenes, set the ISO sensitivity to a higher value.
A:AnswerChoose Write Date, under MENU, tab2, screen 7/7. Date does not appear when framing the picture, but is added to the final picture, lower right corner, in red, "mm dd yyyy". Did not see Time option.
