The ICDPX312 digital voice recorder has a microphone input that would be useful when trying to hide the recorder inside a backpack. With mic clip outside the back for clear recording white the main recorder hidden inside. Even with top quality recorders when hidden inside a bag while recording may not have a good outcome.
