For example, if I have recorded 5 files and I want them to play in a specific order, can I re-arrange the order that they will play in using the recorder or will I have to arrange files in the order I want them to play by connecting the recorder to the computer?”

The Files recorded on the Sony ICDPX312 IC recorder cannot be arranged in a specific order. It’ll playback the files from the last recording. You can transfer the files from the IC recorder to the Computer and then rearrange the files.
