“Software Compatibility I have a SONY ICD-P520, from which I used to transfer recordings to my PC. I purchased a new PC with Windows7, and now I am unable to transfer my files. I have done everything, downloaded updates, used the Windows XP in Virtual PC, etc, and I am still unable to transfer my files to my new PC. My question is, can I use the software included with the ICDPX312 to transfer my files contained in my old SONY ICD-P520? If the answer to to above question is negative, can I transfer the files from the old voice recorde to the the ICDPX312?”

The digital Voice Editor software for your ICD-P520 is not compatible with Windows 7. The Software for the ICDPX312 is not compatible with your older device. Yes! you can record files without using the computer by recording sound from other equipment such as your older recorder connected to this IC recorder. using a 3.5mm cord from the headphones jack of your ICD-P520 to the microphone jack of the ICDPX312 and select “Audio IN” in the “Scene Select” menu.
