How long do batteries last, on average? null

EXTREMELY SHORT! STOCK UP ON BATTERIES!!! IT EATS THEM LIKE CANDY, EVEN WHEN NOT IN USE!

I haven't done a battery test on it but I take a lot of photos and it lasted a week. And they are AA BATTERIES not a rechargeable battery back

Alkaline battery life depends on two factors these factors are capacity of the battery and drain of the device. A typical AA battery with average drain would last 40 hours. Age, storage temperature, and quality of battery can also affect the life of the battery.

Me and my daughter both have this camera and get so frustrated with the batteries. No matter what batteries we buy they drain fast! Went to all different places for batteries and Fryes even said these cameras are known for draining the batteries very quickly! I only got to video 2 songs from my daughters hour and 1/2 concert using new heavy duty batteries. I would buy a different camera until you want to carry a thousand batteries at a time.

Not long at all. This camera goes through batteries like nobody's business. Constantly replacing batteries.
