IF the camera decides, based on difficult lighting subject, it MIGHT take 3 shots, and blend them in-camera for one final shot. It is best for tripod, it is not for any motion, and on a tripod, turn your IS OFF. It combines this 'overlay' decision with whatever 'scene' it recognizes, using that scenes pre-determined settings.
