A:AnswerShutter lag is very minimal in cameras made in the last few years. Lag when using flash is attributed to AF lock in a dark envirmonment. The camera will need to set an AF assist light, get focus and then take the image.
A:AnswerI spent 35 years in photography and I would say if this camera won’t do it no camera out there can handle PHOTOGRAPHY 101.
It has the manual mode which will allow you to chose your f-stops and shutter speeds.
When I started there were no auto features so you had to experiment and learn what these two features did to acquire a good photo.
Enjoy your class and create excellent photos.
Good Luck!
A:AnswerI recently purchased the HX400v to replace my HX400 which was pretty old. There aren't many differences between the 2 cameras. The HX400v as GPS. It also has a slot to attach an extra flash. It does have a built in flash. The HX400v is just an updated version of the HX400.
