“Does it play newer DVDs? I have a DVR that's a few years old. Just got some new DVDs which keep skipping. I did some research, and it seems they may be skipping because of something manufacturers do with newer DVDs. Will this DVD player play DVDs with the most recent technology?”

• dvd's may be scratched or need to be cleaned or dvd player needs to be cleaned. if you plays dvd's quite often, you will need to clean the player on a regular basis to prevent skipping.
