• You can switch to a slower recording speed and get more time out of each side, but in theory you are going to lose video quality doing so, so to me it is not worth it. But I feel your pain - about to go digital to avoid this problem.

• not really all depends on what you record what your recording in. Like ep slp or hd format or what not.
