Hi Ian, Sony commitment is our top priority. The Sony ECMGZ1M microphone is designed for Sony cameras and camcorders that support the Multi Interface Shoe (MI Shoe) feature. On the other hand, the Canon XA60 does not have a Multi Interface Shoe, but rather uses Canon's proprietary shoe mount system.
