The Nikon D500 has a dual card capability. It will take an SD card as well as an XQD card. I would highly recommend that you use an XQD card as your primary card and utilize a high speed (class 10) card for overflow or backup. The read/write speed of the XQD card is far superior to the SD Card and is more in line with today's professional photography requirements. Best of luck ! Gil aka SemperFiGuy

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I use XQDs card in my NIkonD500. The write speed is blazingly fast. I've never yet had the buffer fill when I have fired away taking pictures of birds in flight and other wildlife. The XQD cards are amazing!!! Worth the investment.
