I found it to be very good. When my daughter graduated from college, she came from an area that was brightly lit by the sun and then went up onto the stage with a black background. People who did not know how to lock their exposure to the stage watched black silhouettes approach the stage then turn into people. Locking exposure on the stage allowed me to record her approaching (with a blown out background) so she looked perfect all the way in and out. So yes in most settings it will work terrific as is, but if the sun is low and in front of you as they play football, soccer, etc. or a play where lighting varies quite a bit, you will wish you knew how to adjust for that. My neice sent out a video and her daughter looked like a flaming white ghost because the spotlight was on her, but the rest was more normally lit up. Without the spotlight everyone would have looked awesome. Great facial recognition which tends to mitigate some of these things.

Just opening the (left side) viewer turns on the camera. The zoom control need to be pushed to the left to shot at wide angle but the zoom is a little fast for movies. It doesn't start there. All connectors and the SD card are hidden behind little doors.

There is a one good tutorial on You Tube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DuhIWcRyfA&t=1221s. If you speak / understand German language there is another one. It is a great camera ... though bulky. I bought mainly for 4K and the Balanced Optical Stabilization (only 1080p). Hope this helps.
