Hi Bongopete495, Sony commitment to customer satisfaction is our top priority. Yes, you can operate the FDRAX53 using the supplied ac adaptor while plugged in to a wall outlet. However, this is not possible with a power bank, you can only charge the battery using a power bank. Regards, Larry Sony Social Support
