“The mounts supplied by Sony for This sound bar won't work for stud mounting in the US. The holes are about 30inches apart, Studs in the USA ARE on 16 inch centers so that needs 32 inches. The sound bar is 26 lbs ? Can it be safely mounted on drywall.”

I do not know about mounting the soundbar on drywall. We ordered a different soundbar mount -Rocketfish Universal Soundbar Mounting System. Model RF-SBM102, SKU - 6354301 that allows the Sony soundbar to be mounted to the TV itself. It is working fine and strong enough to hold the Sony soundbar.

The threads of a screw into on a drywall may not permanently hold without an anchor. The HTA7000 comes with mounting screws and brackets that you can use, however, we recommend mounting the unit on a wall that can support its weight of 19 lb 2 oz (8.6 kg) .
