Hi RLJ61, thank you for your inquiry. Yes, it can! This soundbar has a built-in subwoofer that delivers high sound pressure for clear, deep bass. This has been achieved by expanding the area of the diaphragm and the size of the subwoofer (X-Balanced Speaker Unit). But, you also have a choice to add optional powerful wireless subwoofer, either the SA-SW5 or SA-SW3 subwoofer for the A7000. Hope this helps! -Sam
