Yea, placing the speakers on a bookshelf can block the up firing speaker and you won’t get the Atmos experience. I was able to wall mount the rear speakers and they work nicely.

For this, we recommend not to place the speakers in a shelf or right below the ceiling so as not to block the sound output from the top of the speakers. Also, do not place metal objects near the speaker system. Wireless functions may become unstable.
