“I'm interested in the HTA9, but was wondering if Sony was planning on allowing a dual sub connection with the SW5/SW3 through a future software update? I'm weighing them against the Sonos Arc and Sonos' ecosystem which allows for dual subs.”

The HT-A9 360 Spatial Sound Mapping Dolby Atmos®/DTS: X® Home Theater System doesn't support two wireless subwoofer connections. We can only connect one subwoofer 200W wireless subwoofer (SASW3) or 300W wireless subwoofer (SASW5) to the unit. However, you can take your HT-A9 experience to the next level with Sony’s optional subwoofers SA-SW3 or the SA-SW5 which allows you to customize and tailor how much extra bass you want to add to your setup. These subwoofers automatically pair to the HT-A9 for seamless and easy setup. - Kris
