You are looking to have ideally 9ft ceilings to get the most of the atmos upward firing effect, it will still be there with other room types but just won’t be as noticeable
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi RacerChris, Thank you for your inquiry. If you are referring to Dolby Atmos, the ideal ceiling height is between 7.5 and 12 feet to enjoy the best listening experience for Dolby Atmos. We recommend using the Sound Field Optimization feature. This will measure the position of each speaker and optimizes the sound to your room. Regards, Carl
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe that the speakers will work fine BUT the Atmos portion you get from the upfiring speakers will be mitigated somewhat depending on the angle and height of your ceilings. If you look up "B The installer" a product reviewer on YouTube. He addresses this particular point in a recent review of some of the Sony Audio systems (He has the same issue). I ended up returning my AT H9 system though. The sound field was amazing and very enveloping with my Sony A90J tv. Like so many other reviewers have mentioned, the sound dropout became intolerable. I soon just ended up just using my TV speakers. It became maddening to me, I hope this helps.
