Is this unit sony 2.1 ..surround sound? null

I'm not sure I would call it surround sound. It does not come with speakers to be located around the room (surrounding you). It does improve the volume. The cheap speakers that come with flat screen tv's are terrible. there is no space to put good speakers. So i got this soundbar just to improve the volume. hope this helps.

Yes it is. Bass is pretty good but when you turn the bass down the soundbar is a little trebley. Tin cannish.
