“I popped off the face plate. Now I cannot get it back on. If I lock in the right side- the left side will not lock on and vice versa. The instructions do not help- Please let me know what I'm doing wrong? does the car have to be on?”

Hi Yakkesfan, You're are actually doing it correctly. Just to add to that, Once you've locked in the right side, push down the left side until it clicks. And no, your car doesn't need to be on.
